What a Salamander in the Woods Taught Me About the Highly Sensitive Person Nervous System

I was crouched in the moss at the edge of a forest this week, watching a juvenile northeastern newt make her slow, unhurried way up the side of a tree, and I found myself whispering to her: you can do it.
She did not need my encouragement. She had been climbing moss and forest terrains probably since before my species existed.
But something in me needed to say it, because I was not only talking to her.
This week I want to share what Frida the salamander taught me about sensitive nervous systems, and why her tiny climb brought me home to something I have been building for a very long time.
The Forest as Nervous System Medicine
There is a particular quality of silence in a forest that does not ask anything of you.
It does not need you to perform or achieve. It simply holds you, the way an ancient tree holds its canopy, offering shade to everything beneath it without keeping score.
For a highly sensitive nervous system, this kind of unconditional holding is the rarest and most nourishing thing in the world.
Research on Shinrin Yoku, the Japanese practice of forest bathing, shows that even twenty minutes among trees measurably lowers cortisol, reduces blood pressure, and shifts the nervous system from sympathetic bracing toward parasympathetic ease. For sensitives, who process every environmental input more deeply than most, this effect is even more profound.
The forest does not overwhelm a sensitive nervous system. It was, in fact, one of its original homes.
Frida the newt
I named her Frida because she deserved a name.
She was small and jewel-bright, moving across a carpet of deep green moss with a patience and deliberateness that made me stop breathing for a moment. She was not rushing. She was not performing. She was simply moving toward the tree, one careful step at a time, as though she had always known exactly where she was going.
I whispered: you can do it.
And she did. She reached the bark, paused for a moment as if to feel it beneath her feet, and then began to climb.
I sat with that for a long time afterward. The way she moved with softness. The way she did not look around to see if anyone was watching. The way the moss held her, and then the bark held her, and she simply continued becoming.
I felt a moment of rare communion with this being, and it reminded me that I can do it too.
This week I am opening the doors for the preorder of my first online program, the Sovereign Sensitive Blueprint. It has been hard work, truly a climb like it was for Frida.
Tender and worth every step.
The Sovereign Sensitive Blueprint is an audio and video sanctuary I designed to give sensitive nervous systems exactly what the forest gave me this week: a daily architecture of roots, protection, and deep restoration.
Built around three rituals anchored in nature and the elements, it creates a portable greenhouse you can return to every morning, every midday, and every evening, no matter where your feet land.
A Morning Shield to protect your energy before the world reaches you. A Midday Emerald Reset to find your way back to yourself when the day has taken too much. And an Evening Wash Away Yoga Nidra journey to release what was never yours to carry and call yourself home before sleep.
Like Frida climbing toward the tree, this program is for those who are already on their way. Who have been making careful, deliberate progress toward something ancient and rooted in themselves, and desire a daily sanctuary to support that climb.

Built around three rituals anchored in nature and the elements, it creates a portable greenhouse you can return to every morning, every midday, and every evening, no matter where your feet land.
The thread running through all three is one sovereign truth: I am the keeper of my inner tree. Where the inner tree is my body, mind, purpose.
The Morning Shield connects you to the architecture of your inner tree before the world reaches you. Rooted in the Earth element, it builds a luminous boundary of protection around your energy so that you step into your day already cocooned, already held, already sovereign.
The Midday Emerald Reset is your sanctuary in the middle of the day, when the world has already become loud and taxing. Rooted in the Earth and Fire elements, it guides you into an emerald cave of deep restoration where you can unplug from what has accumulated, recharge from your own spring of energy, and return to yourself before the afternoon continues.
The Evening Wash Away is a Yoga Nidra journey rooted in the Water and Earth elements. At the end of the day, it gently washes away everything that was never yours to carry. The conversations still looping, the emotions absorbed from others, the energy left scattered across the hours. It calls everything back in, so that you arrive at sleep whole, clean, and quietly luminous.
Like Frida climbing toward the tree, this program is for those who are already on their way. Who have been making careful, deliberate progress toward something ancient and rooted in themselves, and who are ready for a daily sanctuary to support that climb.
I built these rituals because I needed it.
Because I spent years with no roots, no canopy, no inner architecture to return to when the world became too loud. And watching Frida climb toward that tree in the forest this week, I understood something I had been trying to put into words for months.
We are all climbing toward the tree.
The sensitive ones, the deep feelers, the ones who absorb the emotional weather of every room they enter. We are all making our way toward something ancient and rooted in ourselves.
The Blueprint is the map for that climb.
What the Forest Gave Me This Week
It gave me Frida, and what she showed me about patience and becoming.
It gave me the particular silence of a canopy filtering summer light, and the reminder that a sensitive nervous system does not need to be fixed, it needs to be held by something larger than the noise around it.
It gave me moss beneath my hands and the smell of earth after rain and the understanding that the practices I have been building for sensitive hearts are not separate from nature. They are rooted in it.
They are, in fact, an attempt to bring the forest inside, to create a portable canopy that travels with you wherever your feet land.
That is what the Sovereign Sensitive Blueprint is. A greenhouse built from ancient wisdom and nervous system science, where the daily rituals are the roots, and you are the tree that is always, already becoming.

You can do it. I am not only talking to Frida.
If this month has been building toward something in you, a recognition that your sensitive nervous system deserves a different kind of daily life, I want you to know that the doors are opening!
The Sovereign Sensitive Blueprint is now open for founding circle preorder at $37, closing July 17, regular price 97$. The full sanctuary unlocks July 18.
If you want to begin this journey with me,
Tending the inner tree, one step at a time,
