I'M FEDERICA,

FOUNDER OF TENDER FLOWER YOGA, 
A GENTLE SANCTUARY FOR SENSITIVE HEARTS.
REST, BE SEEN, AND GENTLY FIND YOUR INNER BLOOM!

​​I founded Tender Flower Yoga as a soft nest for sensitive hearts — a place to rest, be seen, and gently find your inner bloom. My own path led me here: a life in science and tech that looked successful from the outside, and from the inside felt exhausted, dissociated, and in chronic pain.

​

I hold a PhD in Medical Biotechnology & Neurosciences and spent over a decade working in biotech software, helping researchers bring their work to life. For years I kept delivering at work while living with the painful symptoms of endometriosis and a nervous system driven by burnout. Eventually my body demanded a stop. After a surgery and two deep burnouts, I had to learn how to put rest before production, and how my sensitive nervous system needed something more than just keeping it together.

 

It needed tenderness. But I didn't know that yet.

The turning point came when I met restorative yoga and Yoga Nidra. Those practices taught me tenderness for my body and a new way to orient my life. I trained as an RYT‑200 trauma‑informed teacher at Lotus Yoga Studio in Boston, completed advanced RYT‑120 Yoga Nidra training with Jennifer Reis, and certified in restorative and yin practices. I am also a Board‑Certified Integrative Health Coach (NBC‑HWC) and a Reiki practitioner.

 

My scientific background guides me with a research‑informed approach (I love bringing new, research‑backed tools into class!), while my lived experience of burnout, chronic pain, and recovery shapes a sensitivity‑aware, heart‑centered practice.​

What I offer I teach gentle, inclusive classes designed to nourish and soothe and nourish sensitive nervous systems:

​

  • Restorative yoga for intentional rest and nervous‑system repair

  • Somatic movement, Healing mudras for body connection

  • Guided Yoga Nidra journeys for deep relaxation and healing

  • Reiki for gentle energetic support and integration

​

My classes are trauma‑aware, low‑stimulus, and paced for sensitive nervous systems. You’ll find clear cues, practical tools, and space to choose what your body needs. Whether you’re navigating burnout, chronic pain, anxiety, or the fatigue of feeling deeply, these sessions are designed to help you come home to yourself.

MY VALUES AND TEACHING PHILOSOPHY

Integrity: I commit in all my interactions to speak truthful words and act in alignment with my words and values, coherently.

Kindness: I strive to bring kindness and warmth to any interactions, making sure that I create a welcoming environment where everybody feels seen.

Empathy: I am a highly sensitive and highly intuitive practitioner, I will hold space for what is shared with respect and deep understanding.

Care: I have always wholeheartedly cared for people, it is ingrained in my being to viscerally care about the health and wellbeing of others.

Respect:  I infuse all my interactions with deep respect and non-judgement for every person and every experience they might share.

Competence: I am a lifelong learner, who had many lives from a trained PhD scientist to a leader in the tech software industry to now a holistic practitioner. I only teach what I have deeply studied, understood and practiced, and value research backed evidence.
